The tech table

One machine. Not six apps.

A typical show stitches together a video player, a separate audio app, a timer window, a monthly signage subscription, and a cue sheet on paper. palplayer runs all of it from one board — the operator's board.

The usual rig

Five things to babysit

  • A media player for video
  • A second app for the music beds
  • A timer window someone alt-tabs to
  • A signage subscription, billed per screen, per month
  • A printed cue sheet that's already out of date
With palplayer

One board, every cue

  • Video, audio and timers on one surface
  • Signage screens driven from the same desk
  • Cue stacks that fire in the order you set
  • Works on the show LAN with no internet
  • Yours — no seats, no per-screen fee
What it does

The muscle that runs the room.

Built for the operator at the tech table — fast, offline-hard, and cued clean. Everything a show needs to play, on one machine you control.

One-button GO

Double-buffered playback so every cue hits clean — no flash, no black. Esc drops to black instantly when you need it.

Cue stacks & auto-continue

Fire a video and a music bed together, then trigger the fade and start the timer — with per-cue timing you set. Fully customizable.

Media bin & clip prep

Drop in your media, then set waveform gain, in/out points and fit per clip. Loop, hold, or rest on a designated slide when a clip ends.

Video control

Layout, picture-in-picture, a downstage key, and captions — composited on the main output exactly how the screen needs it.

Independent audio deck

Play music under video from a separate output — two things at once, mixed the way a real show runs, not one track at a time.

Countdown timers

Downstage countdowns you start, pause, resume and reset — big and readable, driven from the same board as the show.

LAN digital signage

Drive lobby, breakout and hallway screens from the same machine — connect a screen once, control it from your desk. Rotate, assign, done.

Offline-first

Runs on your production LAN when the venue's internet doesn't. The show never depends on someone else's Wi-Fi.

Signed & notarized

A real Mac app, notarized by Apple — it launches clean, no "unidentified developer" wall. Not a script, not a browser tab.

How it works

From load to blackout.

The whole show is four moves, and you own every one of them.

01 · LOAD

Fill the bin

Drop your video, audio and stills in. Set in/out points, gain and how each clip fits — all before doors.

02 · CUE

Stack the moment

Group what fires together — a video, a music bed, a timer, a signage change — with the timing you choose.

03 · GO

One button

Double-buffered, so the next cue is already loaded and hits clean — no flash, no black frame, no scramble.

04 · BLACK

Kill it clean

Esc drops to black the instant you need it. Nothing on the screen you didn't put there.

Signage

Every screen in the building — from your desk.

Lobby boards, breakout rooms, hallway wayfinding, the countdown on stage. Connect a screen once, then pick what's on it from the same machine that runs the show.

Connect oncePoint any screen's browser at the show over your network. It registers itself and waits for orders.
Control from your seatAssign, rename and rotate any screen from the operator's desk. Portrait-mounted panels just work.
Fire signage as cuesA blackout, a "back in 10", an EVACUATE takeover — trigger it like any other cue in the show.
Offline-hardRuns on the production LAN. When the venue Wi-Fi drops, the walls keep running.

Clean playback and instant blackout for cues that can't miss, on hardware that doesn't need the internet.

Conferences & expos

Wayfinding, sponsor loops and room-by-room schedules across the whole floor — from one machine.

Studios & AV teams

One tool the whole crew learns in an afternoon and trusts on a live show floor.

Questions

The short answers.

Is it on the Mac App Store?

No — and on purpose. palplayer runs a live server on your network to drive signage, and reads media from anywhere on your disk. The App Store sandbox blocks both. So it's distributed directly and notarized by Apple — the same way QLab, OBS and Zoom are. You download it from here, and it launches clean.

Does it need the internet?

No. palplayer is offline-first: it plays the show and drives signage over your local network with no connection at all. Internet is optional — only used if you want to pull a plan in from venuepalpro.

What do I run it on?

Any modern Mac — Apple Silicon or Intel. It's signed and notarized for macOS. You output to your screens and projectors the normal way, and drive signage TVs over the network.

How do the signage screens work?

Point any TV or small media player's browser at the show machine on your network. It connects once, then you assign and rotate it from your desk. No subscription, no per-screen fee — the screens run on hardware you already own.

What does it cost?

Pricing is being finalized. Early-access users get first word — and a founder's break for helping us shape it.

When can I get it?

It's built, signed and notarized now, in final testing. Join the early-access list and we'll send you a build as soon as it's ready for the field.
